Ayat Kamel is dedicated to helping couples navigate through life's challenges and build meaningful, more fulfilling relationships. She works with clients facing communication issues, trust injuries, conflicts, or feelings of disconnection. Ayat recognizes that beginning therapy can be daunting and is committed to creating a supportive environment that encourages clients to develop deeper relationships. Upon completing therapy, she hopes clients feel more connected and confident in their relationship skills.

 

Ayat approaches her practice with genuine compassion and a nuanced understanding of the societal realities affecting relationships. She believes the essence of counseling lies in understanding and supporting clients through their unique experiences while integrating a multicultural perspective that honors and respects each individual's diverse background.

In a therapy session with Ayat, you'll find a solution-oriented approach to addressing your
concerns. Ayat is dedicated to understanding your individual experiences and challenges,
focusing on your strengths, and helping you navigate toward positive solutions. Additionally,
Ayat incorporates the Gottman Method, known for its research-based strategies to improve
communication and strengthen relationships.

Education

As a graduate student in the professional counseling program with a concentration in marriage, couple, and family counseling at Texas State University, Ayat is currently working towards Gottman Level 1 and Level 2 certifications and integrating these research-based methods to improve communication in your relationships. In addition, Ayat provides counseling services in Spanish as well.
